Namon Leon Elam, 78, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Springtown Cemetery. Namon was born May 18, 1935, in Springtown to Wellington and Loree Elam. He was a lifelong Springtown area resident and worked for many years as a truck driver for Eagle Mountain Lumber Co. before his retirement in 1981. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Nell Fessenden; grandson, Cory Wayne Elam; and son-in-law, James Weyand. He survived by his wife of 59 years, Pat Elam of Springtown; children, Jimmy Elam and Debra Weyand, both of Springtown; son-in-law, Lee Fessenden; brother, Arthur L. Elam; niece, Kayla D. Elam; grandchildren, Amanda Kay Childs and Melissa Kay McWhorter and husband, Brian; and four great-grandchildren.
