Nona Belle Parr Watts, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, May 9, 2024.

Celebration of Her Life: 11:00 am, Saturday, May 18, 2024, First Baptist Church of Saginaw, 300 N. Old Decatur Road, Saginaw, Texas.

Graveside Service: 12:30 pm following Celebration of Her Life at Saginaw Cemetery.

Visitation: 10:00 – 11:00 prior to Celebration of Her Life at Church.

She was born September 8, 1931, in Justin Texas, to Arthur W. and Voila Parr. She married the love of her life, Harlie L. Watts on September 16, 1955, and together they built an amazing life together.

Nona Belle grew up in Justin and Haslet Texas and graduated from Northside High School. She moved to Saginaw after she married Harlie, they lived on the same corner lot their entire marriage.

Nona Belle also known as "Aunt Belle" was well known in the Saginaw community, active in her church FBC Saginaw, and babysat most of Saginaw in her home from 1963-1975, and as a special education aid at Eagle Mountain Elementary and Saginaw Elementary where she retired after 20 years. She was known for her love of children, caring nature, creativity, gardening, baking, and family Easter Egg hunts at her house. Nona Belle was remembered for having a tractor tire sandbox, tetherball, a house full of games, a table full of original Nona Belle's cookies and snacks, and love… lots of love.

She was a very special lady who loved every child who walked through her door.

She was so proud of her family, family gathering, traditions, nieces and nephews, cousins. She was especially proud to be called Granny and was so proud of her Granddaughters teaching them to sew, craft, working the garden, and making endless cookies. Then came her great grandchildren! She loved coming to visit them as babies, soaking up all the sweet baby cuddles, napping together, talking with them, and offering to help any chance she could. She never hesitated to pretend to play with them as they grew and watching them play and be their silly selves during their visits was her greatest joy. Her love and impact on all our lives will forever be cherished.

When we broke the news to the kids that she had passed, her oldest great-grandson Eli smiled and said "Mommy, but Granny lived a very long and happy life right? So, we can't be too sad for her." She absolutely did!

Nona Belle is survived by her husband of almost 69 years, Harlie L. Watts of Saginaw; their two daughters, Winona Watts and Paula Grayson and Rick Smith of Saginaw; their two granddaughters, Rebecca Cox and her husband, Corey of Saginaw, and Christine Dye and her husband, Hunter of Fort Worth, their four precious great-grandchildren Eli, Delaney, Grayson, and Elijah, and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 sisters, Floella Keefer, Wanda Stacy, and Coline Willis. The Parr girls are together again!

Thank you to Life Care Center of Haltom nurses, aides, and doctors for caring for Nona Belle in her final stage of life over the last 5 years. Thank you to all the family and friends who have loved, supported, and prayed for our family during this time. Heaven gained an angel when Nona Belle left this earth.
