Norman Earl Kilgore, 74, of Lakeside, Texas, passed away on December 29, 2024, in Fort Worth. Norman was born on December 21, 1950, in Fort Worth to Herbert and Gwendolyn (Poindexter) Kilgore. He married Sandra Gail Vititow on February 1, 1980.
Graveside Service: 10:00 am, Tuesday ,February 11, 2025, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with Military Honors.
He served his country with honor in the United States Army, fighting in the Vietnam War as a helicopter gunner. Norman later dedicated 31 years of his professional life to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, working as a switchman.
A lover of the great outdoors, Norman found joy in observing nature and caring for his cows. His appreciation for the simple pleasures in life was evident to all who knew him.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Gwendolyn Kilgore, and his brothers, Michael Kilgore and Cris Kilgore.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandi Kilgore; his two sons, Cody (Jennifer) Kilgore and Casey (Wendy) Kilgore; his cherished grandchildren, Presley and Brody; his brother, Raymond (Mary) Kilgore; his sister, Patty (Larry) Gilbert; and many nieces and nephews.
Norman's memory will forever be treasured by his family and friends. His legacy of service, dedication, and love for nature will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
