Obituary

Beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, and Elvis Presley aficionado, Patsy Ruth Paxton, passed away July 11, 2023.

Visitation: Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Biggers Funeral Home.

Service: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2023, in Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth, following the service.

Patsy was born July 21, 1970, in San Angelo, Texas to Alex and Cissy McKown.  She spent her youth creating a tight-knit circle of friends in Oglesby, Texas, becoming a group who would provide an unparalleled level of love and support throughout her entire life.

After graduating from UMHB with a degree in social work, Patsy lived in Waco, Texas, where while pushing a shopping buggy full of candles at Kirkland's, she would meet Donnie Paxton.  A first date at the Gatesville VFW, a move to Fort Worth, and a flight to Las Vegas... later, they would marry.  She would then have her only daughter and the newest love of her life, Abby Paxton.

While living in Fort Worth, Patsy spent her days working for Tarrant County's Juvenile Probation Department.  She retired in 2022 after spending over 20 years serving the families of Tarrant County and working her way over to the office with the air conditioning thermostat.

Patsy taught herself the art of selfies and honed her craft, documenting the lives of anyone who happened to wander into her orbit.  She enjoyed cooking, wine in a box, grammar correction, and a good air conditioner.

Patsy treated her friends like family and loved spending time with both.  She loved traveling to Caribbean beaches, touring Graceland, and any show with Jon Hamm, although she despised poor punctuation and cucumbers.

Patsy was preceded in death by her mother, Cissy McKown, and sister, Rhonda McKown.

Survivors: She is survived by her husband, Donnie Paxton; daughter, Abby Paxton; father, Alex McKown; sister, Sue Walters and Kenny; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Patsy was loved by many and will be missed.  The world is a better place having had her!
