Paul Sims Brinson was born on August 9, 1949, in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He passed away on December 2, 2024, at Texas Health Harris hospital, Fort Worth, Texas.

In Paul's early years, the family resided in several states including Arizona, and later lived in Avondale Estates, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. In the fall of 1963, Paul began his five-year enrollment at Saint Andrew's School, a boarding school near the University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee, run by the Order of the Holy Cross, an Episcopal monastic order.

Paul completed grades 8-12 "On the Mountain" as they say in Sewanee and was on the St. Andrews football team, wrestling team, and a member of the Civil Air Patrol where he reached the rank of Major and was the Cadet Commander his senior year, graduating in 1967.

Paul attended several Universities before graduating from Auburn University with a BS in Family and Child Development and went on to pursue his doctorate in the same area.

In 1986, Paul moved to Fort Worth to work for the Gifted Students Institute. He later joined Fort Worth ISD in the Research and Development department.

In 2002, Paul began working in Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, for the Evanston/Skokie School District 65, as Director of Research, Evaluation, Planning and Assessment. He commuted between Evanston and Fort Worth every other weekend. During this time, he made many lifelong friends. In his spare time, he loved to visit antique malls and brought home some real treasures. After nine years, he retired from the district as Chief Information Officer.

Paul always had an avid curiosity for anything new he could learn. He was a ferocious reader and loved music of all kinds.  He considered himself to be a builder, either in the workplace or in his personal life. After retirement, Paul began building cedar swings and horse jumps which he either gave away to family/friends or sold at customers' requests. This led to a new passion for customizing Mandirs. He loved working with individual families, listening to their ideas/dreams and being able to create their perfect mandir.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla George Brinson; father, Marion Eugene "Gene" Brinson; sister, Marsha Brinson Ward and husband, Robert (Bob) Ward.

Paul is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Donna Haggard Brinson, of Fort Worth; daughter, Heather Brinson Jackson and husband, Patrick Jackson of Wilsonville, Alabama; two stepsons, Brandon T. Chenault and wife Dr. Carrie Chenault, of Irving, Texas and Bryan C. Chenault, of Fort Worth; foster daughter, Maria E. Rangel and husband, Tomas Rangel, of Fort Worth; two brothers-in-law, Randy Haggard and Rick Haggard, both of Cisco, Texas; nephew, Doug Ward and a niece, Allison Stovall, both of Atlanta, Georgia; six grandchildren: Honor Jackson, Erick Herrera, Dianna Herrera, Anna K. Hernandez, Jacques Chenault and Olive Chenault. As well as a host of friends and associates.

Paul was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.
