The family of Priscilla Ann Brown announces the passing of their wonderful Mom, Sister, Aunt and Nana. At 94 years old, she will be missed by more people than we will ever know-family, friends, neighbors and strangers who never stayed strangers for long.

For every one of those 94 years, Priscilla showed up. She showed up for her family, her community and her friends, and she never came empty handed- not to a visit, a gathering, or a single moment that mattered. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcomed. She had no problem telling you exactly what she thought but always managed to make you feel deeply loved while doing it.

Priscilla brought the same tenacity to her work and service. She retired after 40 years with the telephone company- four decades of dedication. A proud member of the Communication Workers of America, she stayed connected to her telephone family long after retirement through the Retired Members Chapter (RMC) and the Telephone Pioneers.

Her service didn't stop there. She gave years to the Selective Service Board, poured her heart into the Special Olympics, served on the Olympic Torch Relay support team and stood up as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention- happily sharing her opinions for the people and causes she believed in.

In more recent years, she found great joy in her tight-knit circle of friends-lovingly known as "The Golden Girls"-who matched her energy, her humor and her love of a good time.

Priscilla loved sweets like a honeybee loves a garden, though she loved to shop and gamble just as much- and she was entirely unashamed of it all. She loved a good conversation, was always up for a good conspiracy, and was forever ready to lean in with a wink and share some advice:

"Ask for forgiveness, not permission."

Priscilla is survived by her daughter Rhonda Rogers and son-in-law Terry Rogers, her grandsons Eric Rogers and Brian Rogers; her great -grandchildren Lily,Jack,and Ben Rogers-who got something most kids never do:a great grandmother who was truly, actively present in their lives;her twin sister Patricia Poole and husband Bill Poole; and her younger sister Pamela Kuhnell, along with a wide and wonderful circle of family and friends who were lucky enough to be loved by her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Edith Nunley: her brothers James Garrison and Russell Nunley; her beloved youngest sister Debby Nunley;by her first husband ,Raymond Maness ; her last husband of 29 years Bobby Brown and by her friend and long time companion,Michael Conley.

She also leaves behind every person that she welcomed to her home, every stray cat she ever fed, and every soul who walked away from time with her feeling a little more seen than they did before.

She fought for everything she had. She gave away more things than she kept. She didn't love from a distance- she showed up, she dug in, and she made sure everyone knew exactly who she was. The impact of that kind of love doesn't fade, and we should all be so lucky to live like that.
