Rebecca Sue McDonald Wilks

September 1, 1947 – April 9, 2025

Daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, great-grandmother, and friend—Rebecca "Becky" Sue McDonald Wilks, lovingly known by many as "Mamaw," passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday morning, April 9, 2025. She was a woman who loved well and was well-loved.

Service: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025, Biggers Funeral Chapel

Interment: following service at Springtown Cemetery

Visitation:  1:00 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service.

Born in Borger, Texas, on September 1, 1947, Becky was the third of four children to Thomas Eugene "Gene" McDonald and Dora Mae Thomas McDonald.

She met her husband, Claude Dean Wilks, through family. While Claude was serving in the Army, the two exchanged countless letters. True to Mamaw's playful spirit, she once mailed Claude a tick—just a small piece of the country life she was living. When Claude returned from his service, it was love at first sight. They were married on June 10, 1969, in Miami, Oklahoma. From that point forward, their love was a romance novel. Becky said that her life began once she met Claude. They loved each other with their entire hearts. Becky would say, a man should love his wife as Jesus did the Church. And that is exactly how Claude loved Becky. She left a note on her phone that said "I love Claude".

Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed three daughters: Sidney Annita, Milisa Ann, and Claudette Sue. Becky devoted her life to making a warm and loving home—cooking, cleaning, caring for her family, and always enjoying a good laugh over coffee with friends. She consistently sacrificed her own needs for the well-being of those she loved.

Becky will be remembered as a selfless, altruistic wife, mother, and grandmother who wore a smile even in the hardest of times. She had a quiet strength. She never complained and always looked forward with hope.

Her faith in the Lord was steadfast and serene. From childhood, she carried a deep love for Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Church of Christ, in which she also raised her family. Becky had a beautiful singing voice, one she often shared during worship.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Dora McDonald; her daughter, Milisa Wilks; and granddaughters, Taylor Swanstrom and Bailey Moore.

She is survived by her loving husband, Claude Wilks; daughters, Sidney Brewer and Claudette Cole; and her son-in-law, Troy Cole; grandchildren, Rebecca Burd and husband, Randy, Mackenzie Cole, Brittany Harris and husband, Jacob, Grayson and Hayden Moore, and Trenton Cole; great-grandchildren include Emily, Jaxson, and Carson Harwell; Sage and Lilac Swanstrom; and Paisley Harris.
