Reverend James Russell Lampin of Fort Worth, TX, passed away at home on January 29, 2024.

Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 4, 2024, Biggers Funeral Home.

Service: 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2024 Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Committal: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2024 Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Reverend Lampin was born in Carthage, Texas on June 10, 1931. His younger years were spent in Longview until he joined the Air Force. After serving four and half years, he attended the University of Texas and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Texas Instruments and IBM before attending Bible school in Indiana to become a minister. Upon completion of his ministerial training, he moved his family to Fort Worth Texas where he has pastored since 1968.

He continued as Senior Minister at Family Worship Center, Newark Texas until his death.

As a minister, he invested in relationships and people. His life was one of a service and with his whole heart. He practiced being humble and loved others unconditionally with absolute devotion to his creator.

He lived life passionately, embracing each moment and each meal. James loved the fellowship of eating with others whether at home or eating out.

He was a loving husband to his wife Alma who played the piano and was always at his side. They loved to travel and they visited 48 states and multiple countries during almost 70 years together.

James is survived by two daughters, Jamie (Kevin) and Carole; two sons, Alan (Bonnie) and Joel; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
