Obituary

Our Richard was taken by the Lord on December 20, 2020. He lived a full life where his compassion for people and a desire to help others was always on his mind. Rosary: 5:30 PM, Wednesday, January 20, 2021, Biggers Funeral Home Chapel with visitation to follow. Funeral Service: 11:30 AM, Thursday, January 21, 2021, Biggers Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Service with Military Honors: 2:30 PM,Thursday 21, 2021, Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Richard was born on July 14, 1949 in San Antonio, Texas to Albert and Victoria De La Torre. He was one of seven children. Richard served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1990. After his retirement, he continued serving and worked for the United States Postal Service from 1990 to 2015. Richard was married to Jovita for 36 years. They had a loving relationship and were inseparable. There is only one way to describe how they felt about each other: el carino. Richard has three daughters from a previous marriage and three step children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Victoria and a sister Annie. He is survived by his wife, Jovita, stepdaughter, Cynthia Trevino-Watkins, husband Calvin, daughter Laura Valadez, husband Tony, stepson Michael Trevino, wife Mari, daughter Lisa, husband Albert, stepson Candelario Trevino Jr., wife Natalie, daughter, Linda, husband Armando. Three brothers and two sisters and 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild and a host of nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends. He will truly be missed.
