Richard (Dick) Cook, 83, loving Husband, Father, "Pops," and resident of the Eagle Mountain Lake area of Fort Worth, TX, passed away December 28, 2023, surrounded by his cherished family, and the comfort of the Lord.

Born June 9, 1940, in Chicago, IL, he was the 2nd child born to Louis and Albertine Cook. His family then moved to Milwaukee, WI where he attended Messmer Catholic High School. At Messmer he was Captain of the football team, Prom King, and it's where he would meet his future wife, Mary Ann Barrett. He attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and was the first in his family to graduate college. He worked several jobs to pay for his education. He and Mary were married June 16, 1962.

After college, he worked for Will Ross Hospital Sales which later led to multiple management roles for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. He held executive positions with medical-device startup companies and later retired in 2005 from Herman Miller.

His various job positions moved his family from Milwaukee to Charlotte to Madison to Minneapolis to Omaha and finally Fort Worth, TX. He loved boating and his family shared his passion. His favorite weekends were on Eagle Mountain Lake taking friends on evening cruises and his kids and grandkids water skiing. If he wasn't on the lake, he could be found at home taking pride in his yard.

Retirement provided him with more time to spend with his 7 grandchildren. They fondly referred to him as "Pops" and he was very active in all their lives. He attended their sporting events, school programs, baby-sat, and loved playing games with them. He was affectionate and always told them how much he loved them and how proud he was.

He was smart, clever, positive, and witty. As a father he was loving, supportive, and taught his children how to utilize humor to get through difficult times. He believed there wasn't a problem that couldn't be solved. He was kind, generous and never met a stranger. He had an infectious laugh, loved to tell jokes, was quite a prankster.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diane Balsewicz.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Cook; three daughters, Mary Beth Andrade, and husband, Jose, Jennifer Cook, Patricia Krause, and husband Jim; son, Daniel Cook and wife Jackie; sister, Patricia Cook; grandchildren, Jacob, Kyle, Marci, Jose Jr. and wife Maddie, Owen, Miles and Phoebe.
