Richard "Dick" Lockett, age 91, of Fort Worth, Texas died Thursday, February 13, 2025 at home surrounded by his family.

Dick was born August 31, 1933 in Fort Worth to Jimmy Derrell and Elise (Overton) Lockett.

He graduated from North Side High School and earned a BBA in Accounting from Texas Wesleyan University.

He served his country honorably in the United State Army during the Korean War as an Artillery Instructor, 1953-1955.  he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and attained the degree of Master Mason.

He was united in marriage to LeVaughn "Mitzi" Thetford on August 24, 1987.

Dick was employed as an IT Professional Senior Systems Analyst and Programmer for Stratoflex, Inc. for 23 years; General Dynamics Aerospace for 17 years; Bell Helicopter International in Tehran, Iran for 6 years; and worked may other jobs as well as being a business owner.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, and liked watching sports and classic westerns. He was a kind man who always had a smile on his face.

Dick was preceded in death by his mother, Elise and stepfather, Charles; his father, Jimmy Derrell and stepmother, Nanette; his son, Richard "Rick" Lockett Jr., and his sister, Evelyn Fritts.

He is survived by his beloved wife, LeVaughn "Mitzi" Lockett; his brother, Charles Michael Lacy and wife, Judy; his stepson, Simon Owen; sons, Larry Lockett, Gary Lockett and Jimmy Lockett, all of Fort Worth; and many other extended loving family members.
