Ronald Cagle, 84, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Due to the Pandemic and current inclement weather, a memorial service will be held at the Dallas/Ft.Worth National Cemetery at a later date to be determined. Graveside Service: 10:15 AM. Ron was born on September 28, 1936 in Paoli, Oklahoma to Mrs. Ina Dickson. As a young man, Ron joined the Air Force at age 17, serving in the Korean War. He was proud of his accomplishments as the crew chief on the guided missile programs (Bomarc and Matador) which were launched from the Florida coast during his tenure. Ron attended East Central State College in Oklahoma where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and was a member of Oklahoma Gamma Chapter of Alpha Chi. Upon graduation, Ron joined Federal Service in 1964 as an intern with the Federal Supply Service, a branch of the General Services Administration (GSA). He retired from GSA in 1989. After retirement, Ron worked briefly for the state of Texas with Child Protective services, eventually moving on to a love for "flipping houses" with his wife, children and grandchildren. Ron married his wife, Nancy in June of 1977. They settled at Eagle Mountain lake where Ron enjoyed sailing and living the lake life. They later moved to New Orleans. Ron had a love for jazz and blues music, as well as the culture of South Louisiana including the cuisine and history. While in New Orleans, Ron explored his love of aviation and obtained a private pilot's license. The Cagle's moved back to Ft Worth in 1989 to enjoy retirement and their growing family. Preceding him in death are his mother and step-father, Ina and Bill Dickson, and son, Jeff Forrest. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; sons, Mike Cagle (Karin), Barry Forrest (Elizabeth); daughters, Cindy Finch (Leonard), Nancy Perez, and Debby Weimer (Eric); daughter-in-law, Sherri Forrest; his grandchildren, Calvin Cagle (Chloe), Grace Cagle (Perry), Richard Hutto (Jessalyn), Daniel Hutto (Sarah), Sherri Pearse (Rusty), Emily Perez, Aaron Forrest (Dani), Jesse Forrest, Nicholas Forrest (Andree), Hillery Forrest, Matthew Forrest, Sara Forrest, Justin Creech (Gina), Chelsea Jones (Jeremy), and numerous great-grandchildren.
