Rose Ann Spann, a woman strong in her Christian faith, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus at her home in Azle, Texas, Tuesday,  April 7, 2026 with family by her side.

Service: A Celebration of Her Life will be held, please reach out to family and friends on the Location, Time and Date.

Committal: 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Memorials: Flowers are welcome, or memorial donations may be made to Sokol Hall, Fort Worth, Texas.

Rose Ann was born on April 29, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Stanley and Rose Elizabeth Krenek. She was the youngest of three children. She graduated from North Side High School in 1960.

While working as a carhop, she met her future husband, Leslie James "Jimmy" Spann. They were married in 1961. Shortly after their marriage, Jimmy joined the United States Coast Guard and they were stationed in New Orleans, Louisiana. During this time, Rose Ann devoted herself to her home and family, welcoming their first child, Mike, on their first wedding anniversary.

After four years in the Coast Guard, the family settled in Azle, Texas. Rose Ann discovered a passion for floral design, which began as a hobby and grew into working as a designer with a local florist for many years. Later, Rose Ann built a career as a realtor, for 20 years, and became a well-known member of the Azle community.

Rose Ann had a deep love for her home and took great pride in her yard, keeping it meticulously maintained, often striving for the look of a botanical garden. She and her husband cherished time spent at Lake Texoma, where they enjoyed camping, fishing, and gathering with family and friends.

She was proud of her Czechoslovakian heritage and was actively involved with the Fort Worth SOKOL, where she participated in and traveled to gymnastic and fitness festivals.

Above all, her greatest joy was her family. She loved hosting gatherings, cooking for loved ones, and filling her home with laughter.

Rose Ann will be remembered as a strong, hardworking, generous, resilient, and fun-loving women. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was known for her playful practical jokes, and would do anything to make others laugh, even at her own expense. Nothing brought her more pride than her family and their accomplishments.

Rose Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Linda Thom; her brother, Stanley Krenek Jr. and nephew, Kenneth Thom.

We are truly blessed to have been part of her journey.

Survivors: She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Leslie James "Jimmy" Spann; her son, Mike Spann and his wife, Kyura Spann; her daughter, Debbie Bunero and her husband, Joe Bunero; her grandchildren, Casey Spann, Heidi Spann, Reena Spann, Joey Bunero, Sean Bunero and Paige Bunero; nephew, Phillip Thom and his wife, Carla; niece, Lynn, whom she called "her sidekick"; sister-in-law, Betty Ann Krenek ;niece, Stace' and her husband, Chris Covington; nephew, SK and his wife, Lisa Krenek; lifelong friend, Betty Ann Wheeler; other dear friends, Czech friends, the Ladies Circle, Friendship Club and the Northside High Girls.
