Heaven received a new angel October 31, 2017, with the passing of Rosemary Laurette Wood at the age of 72 from complications related to cancer. Mass of the Resurrection: 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway in Frisco. Committal: 2:15 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. There are cancer survivor stories that have been archived in books and movies, but none are quite like the one Rosemary lived. From an extended bout of breast cancer to eventually a struggle with esophageal cancer in her last years, she lived despite cancer for three decades longer than many other survivors. She didn't allow cancer to extinguish her light. Rosemary was a diligent worker, a dedicated boss, and a determined friend to so many people. Her light shined upon the thousands who knew her during her esteemed career in health care, both in the ranks of nursing and her positions of healthcare administration. Moreover, that same light shined brightest upon the dozens who knew her as a part of their direct or extended family. Rosemary Wood was a friend to many, a wife to one, a mother to two, a stepmother to two, a grandmother to five, a step grandmother to three and a great step grandmother to three. Outside of those connections that will be cherished forever, her eternal legacy is that she truly was loved by all who had the pleasure to meet her, know her, work with her, and live with her. Stone, Julia M. Stone, Aaron Wood, Natalie H. Stone, and Ashlin Rose Wood and a number of nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
