Sandra "Sandee" Ann Berkley was born January 19, 1944 in Baraboo, Wisconsin and passed March 28, 2024, in Azle, Texas.

Sandee was raised in Briggsville, Wisconsin by hard-working parents. Her early years were marked by a heroic battle with polio, including a lengthy hospital stay and grueling rehabilitation. Her battle scars, muscular tone issues that plagued her, her entire life, although most would never know, and being the stoic survivor that she was, she would never complain.

Her youth consisted of chores in the morning before fun in the afternoon with her two sisters at a local pool. Sandee and her sisters, Sandee being the eldest, spent many summers at a family farm learning the value of hard work. This value set was evident throughout Sandee's life as she always did what had to be done, squeezing as much as possible out of every minute of daylight.

In high school, she was considered the smart and pretty one, winning several beauty pageants before graduating as salutatorian of Wisconsin Dells High School in 1962. This is where she would meet her future husband, Tyler Berkley.  It was love at first site at a basketball game at Baraboo High School for Sandee and Tyler. They dated for the remainder of high school, then after two years at separate colleges, Tyler and Sandee decided to marry. Truly devoted, they were engaged December 25, 1963 and married May 23, 1964.  She moved to East Lansing, Michigan while Tyler finished his degree. After graduation they moved to Keller, Texas to begin their life together.

Sandee forged successful real estate career while loving and supporting Tyler in his new career as a Texas Ranger.  Just when they thought life couldn't get any better, on October 30, 1972, the young couple had a son, Reed Berkley. They were devoted parents to Reed and his successes on the baseball field.

Eventually their love for the outdoors drew the family to Azle, Texas where on any given weekend, they could be found on the water, boating on Eagle Mountain Lake.

Here, Tyler and Sandee, were active members of Good Sheppard Lutheran Church, where Sandee exercised her finance education and experience as church secretary until Tyler's passing in March of 2000.

Since, Sandee remained very involved in the community and small group activity in and around Azle.  She played bunko weekly and had several lunch/dinner groups that met regularly.  Despite a busy social schedule, Sandee's true passion and devotion was to her grandchildren, Peyton, Garrison, and Kaelee.  You can bet that if the kids were playing sports, their number one cheerleader was in the stands or watching online and never missed a game.   She also became chief dog sitter to their dog "Rookie" when the family was called out of town.

Sandee was preceded in death by her father, Laverne George "Bud" Schaitel; mother, Helen Schaitel; and her husband, Tyler Trent Berkley.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Reed and Kari Berkley; grandchildren, Peyton, Garrison, and Kaelee Berkley; and sisters, Susan Hilliard and Signa "Punky" Schaitel.
