Sharon Denise Smith, 73, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep, in her home Thursday,  February 26, 2026.

Visitation: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Biggers Funeral Chapel, prior to the service.

Service: 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 3, 2026, Biggers Funeral Home Chapel.

Committal: 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.

Sharon was born on August 22, 1952, to Dennis J. Hightower and Maurine McDowell Hightower, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Sharon's early life had its share of challenges, and as a teenager, she fully experienced the 1960's hippie counter-culture – life was groovy, and full of peace, love, and flower power!

She attended Arlington Heights high school, worked at the Seventh Street Theatre, and played violin as a young girl.

As she grew into young adulthood, she grew in her Christian faith and put her trust in Jesus. As a young mom to her two sons, she learned how to cook and built a happy home life full of fun and adventure for her boys.

Sharon married George Smith on April 25, 1992, the beginning of a wonderful and happy life together. They enjoyed traveling together, especially on trips to the Texas Hill Country and exploring out of the way, hole-in-the-wall restaurants and other interesting places. She loved being a part of the Smith family and all their laughter and fun hijinks. The love George and Sharon shared was deep and strong, and she will always be his lovely and talented bride.

Later in life, she loved spending time with her granddaughter, Ashley – because she always wanted a little girl to spoil. This was when Sharon became "Ninny," and she was surely the best Ninny this world has ever known. Their times playing and crafting together brought Sharon so much joy!

Sharon had many hobbies and creative interests, including gardening, cooking, photography, sewing, quilting, and crafting. She absolutely loved the music of the 1960's – especially the Beatles. She had many pets that she loved throughout her life, especially her dogs Patches, Toto, and Cooper.

Sharon will always be remembered as a creative, talented, encouraging, enthusiastic party-maker. With her, every birthday, holiday, family trip, and get-together was extra fun and full of life. She had a talent for making things beautiful, whether it was sewing, decorating, gardening, or crafting.

We couldn't have asked for a better wife, mom, grandmother, or friend. Her memory and her legacy of love and encouragement will continue in our hearts and lives forever, until we meet again.

Sharon is survived by her husband, George Smith; her son, Shane Gage and wife, Carole, son, Graham Gage; granddaughter, Ashley Gage; her sister, Roxanne Felps; her brother, Dennis Hightower; her sister-in-law, Linda Jenkins; and step children, Greg Smith and wife, Rebecca, Wade Smith and wife, Jessica, and Stephanie Smith; along with six step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis J. and Maurine Hightower; her brother, James Jenkins, and several aunts and uncles.
