It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Sheryl "Sherry" Lynnette Jordan Gondek. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, joining son, Jeff and husband, Jim Pat in the hereafter.

Visitation: 9:30 am – 11:30 am, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Ave, Ft. Worth.

Graveside Service: 1:00 pm at Greenwood Memorial Park, 3100 White Settlement Rd, Ft Worth.

Afterward, the family will host a Celebration of Life at their home, 3313 Dalhart Drive in Ft. Worth.

Sherry was born in Lindsey, Oklahoma, April 28, 1950, to Harold Eugene Jordan and Billie Marie (Thompson) Jordan. Along with big brother Danny, she traveled and lived in many states due to her father's oilfield jobs: North Dakota, Montana, Utah, and Texas, among them. Perhaps this fueled her future love for travel!

In 1957 the family settled in Lake Charles, Louisiana, which was home for many years. In 1965 Sherry moved with her mother and brother to Mangum, Oklahoma, taking with her a lifelong love for gumbo and all things Cajun!

Sherry adapted well to Mangum and high school, active in the FHA Club, Sub Deb Sorority, and was a Twirler and Band Queen. One of the first in her school to wear the 60's trendy bell bottoms, she began sewing and designing, always fashionable her entire life.

Graduating high school in 1968, Sherry attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University for a time. While there, she was in the Panhandle College Freshman Queen Pageant. Preferring a business career to college, she moved to Ft. Worth, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Jim Pat Gondek. They married in 1970; daughter, Stacie Lynnette Gondek was born in 1973, and son, Jeff Brian Gondek followed in 1978. Sherry passionately loved her children, always a proud mother.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck hard when Jeff was suddenly killed in an auto accident in 2000. Unspeakable grief gripped the family, and the next year Jim Pat succumbed to cancer and a broken heart. Sherry and Stacie were left alone in the world, but out of their pain grew a forever mother-daughter bond that grew stronger and stronger.

Granddaughter Jacie Lynnette Sullins was born in 2007 to Stacie and Jackson Sullins. This beautiful child helped bring so much joy back to the entire family and always held a big piece of Sherry's heart. She cherished being Jacie's "Mammie". She also loved Jackson, who lovingly tended both her and her beautiful garden, when needed.

Until her pain was unrelenting, she attended Jacie's dance competitions and performances, sadly missing her in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Fighting her cancer tirelessly for many years, she never gave up or into its devastation.

Sherry worked for many years at Cash America Corporation as an Administrative Asst and Purchasing Manager. She made wonderful, everlasting friends while there, and began to travel with them. She especially enjoyed the occasional "Ghost Tour"! Even more so after retirement, cruises and tours took her all over the world, with some favorites being those with Stacie, Jackson, and Jacie.

Sherry was the perfect hostess and was known for her tea parties, holiday dinners, and famous parties.... especially for Halloween. Entertaining came naturally, whether it was planning games, karaoke, or trivia. Whether dressed as Marilyn Monroe, Cleopatra, or a Victorian Lady, she always stunned! Hollywood's loss was not discovering her!

Decorating, designing, creating, and gardening were passions for Sherry, and she made everything more beautiful with the touch of her hand. Every holiday or occasion was meticulously styled and celebrated with magazine-cover perfection. She loved her wine, music, and dancing, which continued until just too painful.

Sherry is survived by daughter, Stacie Gondek (Jackson) and granddaughter, Jacie Sullins, of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, Dan Jordan (Donna) of Anna, Texas; nephews, Chad Jordan (Marcy) of Anna, Texas; and Mike Jordan (Jennifer) of McKinney, Texas; great-niece, Laura Jordan of Portland, Oregon; great-nephew, Chris Jordan (Shelby), great-great-nephew, River Jordan, of Plano, Texas; half-sister, Virginia Russell (Jess) of Norman, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Denis Gondek (Gail); many cousins; and a multitude of special, everlasting friends.

Going before her were son, Jeff Gondek; husband, Jim Pat Gondek; and mother, Billie Jordan Bell.

In fitting with Sherry's fashion sense, she requested funeral attendees (including her) wear red at the service. Stacie called her their "Queen" and to the end she remained regal, with impeccable taste. She will be missed dearly by so very many.
