It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of SMSgt Channie T. Richardson Sr., USAFR at 72 years old on the 3rd of November 2023, in Fort Worth, TX. Channie was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, friend, and a retired United States Air Force veteran.

Service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 11, 2023 in Biggers Funeral Chapel, 6100 Azle Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76135.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request green potted plants or donations can be made to further the education of the granddaughters, Yaneli Richardson and Jaelynn Richardson.

Channie was born June 9, 1951, in Newport News, VA to the late Channie Stokes and Mazie Richardson.

Growing up he enjoyed going to the local Boys Club shooting pool and any and all other sports at the club. He was in the High School Band and played the trombone. Channie enjoyed his morning coffee, fishing, sitting in the sun, playing poker, going to the casino and truly loved his steaks, smothered pork chops, sunny side up eggs, and his favorite place Waffle House.

Channie joined the Air Force around 19 years old, dedicating 40 years of his life in proud service to the Air Force and retired in 2011 from Tenth Air Force at NASJRB Fort Worth, TX. He was stationed in Alaska, Arizona, California, and Texas.

Channie was not only a dedicated Air Force professional but also an exceptional human being and friend to many. He found joy in every moment of his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and reuniting with his retired friends from many branches of the U.S. military services. He loved and was dearly loved by so many that knew him. His unwavering love and devotion were most evident in his tireless care for Young during her battle with Leukemia.

Channie was known as someone that lit up a room with his smile, loved to joke around, tell stories of his travel in the military, and always liked to dress with class. He leaves behind a legacy of love and care to be cherished by his son Channie Richardson Jr. who will forever remember his guidance and unwavering support as he navigated life's challenges.

As he embarks on his final journey, Channie's family takes solace in the knowledge that he is now at peace, no more pain, and reunited with the love of his life, Young. Channie's memory will forever remain in our hearts as a testament to his love, dedication, zest for life, and honorable military service to the United States of America.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 28 years, Young Richardson; and his brothers, Thomas Stith, Rudolph Sharon, and sister, Frances Bryant.

Channie is survived by his son, Channie T. Richardson Jr., daughter-in-law Gloria; daughter, Pam Johnson; sister, Betty Brandon, Barbara Jameson, Marion Bagley, brother-in-law, Ray Bagley, Toni Matthews, Hai Ru Huang and his wife, Xiao Hui Xie and sister-in-law Angela Branch and her husband, Roy; he was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Channie T. Richardson III, Kelsey Richardson, Audrey Sierra-Bogan, Jaelynn Sierra-Richardson, Yaneli Sierra-Richardson; and 6 great-grandchildren; additionally, many nieces and nephews which he loved dearly, niece, Berne Brandon and nephews, Bole Huang, Doug Brandon, Eric Davis, and Michael Brandon.
