We are heartbroken to announce that Stephen William Ragsdale, 79, of Saginaw, Texas passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023.

Service: 10:00 am, Saturday, October 21, 2023, in Biggers Funeral Chapel

Committal: 1:30 pm, Wednesday, October 25, 2023, Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, October 20, 2023, at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Avenue, Lake Worth, Texas 76135.

Stephen William Ragsdale was born September 19, 1944, in Graham, Texas to Stephen William Ragsdale and Jimmie McHargue Ragsdale. Steve joined the Navy in 1961 and retired after 20 years in 1981. After retiring, he joined the Police Academy. He spent 20 years with the Haltom City Police Department, where he served in many positions including patrol, detective, SRO, and warrant officer. After retiring from Haltom City, he joined the Saginaw Police Department where he spent 8 years as an SRO.

Steve married Kathy Anderson Ragsdale in 1967 and spent 56 years loving her. They had two daughters, Dorothy Loftin and Stephanie Plata, along with 6 grandchildren. Steve was a devoted husband and father, and greatly loved all his grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his wife, Kathy Ragsdale; his daughter, Dorothy Loftin and her husband, Casey, daughter Stephanie Plata, and her husband, Joseph; sisters, Dorothy Venturi and Ruth Routson; grandchildren, Jordan Loftin, Jared Loftin, Cassidy Loftin, Brooke Speer, Skyla Plata, and Cate Plata.

Steve will be sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, family and many friends.
