Sylvia Lynn Poteet, 82, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 26, 2025. She was born on March 23, 1943, in Seymour, Texas, to S.R. and Doris Donnell.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Sunday, November 2, 2025, Biggers Funeral Home in Lake Worth, Texas. Sylvia will be laid to rest at her farm in Seymour, a place that held a special place in her heart.

Sylvia earned her nursing degree from Midwestern University and later attended the Harris Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia in Fort Worth, where she became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). She enjoyed a distinguished career of more than 40 years in anesthesia, where she was respected for her skill, professionalism, and compassion toward her patients and colleagues alike.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sylvia had a deep commitment toward her family. She loved hunting and fishing, especially when surrounded by those she loved-and if there was a new baby to be held, it would always find its way into her arms.

There has been considerable conversation about her athleticism and love of sport: skiing the boat out of gas, making it to State in tennis with a dead racket, season tickets for TCU Girls Basketball and in recent years she never missed a WNBA game on television.

In the days following her passing, countless family members have shared stories of her kindness, generosity, and the joy that her infectious laughter brought to every family gathering.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, S.R. and Doris Donnell; 2 nieces, a nephew, a great-nephew, and two brothers-in-law.

Her legacy and memory will live on through her surviving sons, Brad Poteet of Knox City and Steve and Gaylen Poteet of Fort Worth; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues. May we all cherish and hold dear the special memories we have of her.

Sylvia's legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
