Tanya was born January 25, 1942, in Breckenridge to Orville Dean Jones and Betty Zane Boles Jones. Those who knew her would agree she was one of the hardest-working women they knew, always eager to pitch in and help a friend or family member with any project.
She owned and operated The Do It Shop in Azle for several years, and later Tanya's Texas in the Fort Worth Stockyards. She worked at the Cowtown Coliseum for 27 years, from where she retired — for the second time — in her 70s. Tanya loved gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, garage sales and John Wayne. She coached softball in the Azle Youth Association for several years, as well.

Burnett; brothers, James Albert "Bo" Jones and Chris Zachary; sisters-in-law, Sharon Jones and Glenda Zachary; stepsisters, Sharon Williams and Dolores Ford; grandsons, Marcus Stepich and Micah Rodriguez; and nephews Ricky Rash and Gary Dart.
