Thomas "Tommy" Bartholemew Pung, age 67, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

Service celebrating Tommy's life: 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2025, Memory Gardens of The Valley, Weatherford, Texas, and he will be laid to rest next to his McCarthy family members.

Memorials:  In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request to please do something kind for someone in need. That is what Tommy always did.

Tommy was born the fourth of seven children to Harry and Margaret Pung in San Antonio, Texas. As the second eldest boy, he played several sports, and he gathered many trophies for his bookshelf as he was growing up in such a big family. He especially loved baseball, and he played pitcher, shortstop, and third base for many years. Everyone who knew the younger Tommy would tell you that he had a quiet, smiling face at the table, and the last joke, bit of humor, and/or quip was usually his to add.

Sadly, in 2007, Tommy's life changed forever when a reckless driver took away his mobility (but never his spirit). Once he was stabilized, his sister and brother-in-law (Patti and Joe Moore) insisted that he be moved to their home, where they cared for him from the time of the accident until his death. Despite being bedridden for the past 18 years, Tommy continued to touch the lives of family, friends, and (especially) the Moore family in Dallas. His resilience, smile, and unwavering grace reminded everyone daily what true strength looks like.

Before the accident, Tommy studied carpentry, and he loved travel and being close to the ocean. He lived for several years in Virginia Beach and Northern Florida, where he worked with several life-long close friends and their company. His specialty talent allowed him to travel wherever he wanted, but he chose to come back 'home' to San Antonio after a few years so that he could be closer to his family.

Tommy is survived by his six brothers and sisters, Pegi Pung, Peter Pung, Patti Moore, Kathleen Kotara, Kevin Pung, and Paul Pung; as well as his 'second brothers,' Joe Moore and Stephen Mills; and plethora of loving cousins, and a wide circle of friends who were like family to him.
