Travis Glen Wilson, 73, passed away peacefully Monday, July 20, 2026, surrounded by family in Fort Worth, Texas.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 29 at 1:00 p.m. at 8998 Dickson Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76179.

Born June 23, 1953, in Hereford, Texas, Glen was the son of Bonnie and Jo Ann Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved wife of 25 years, Rita “Hammett” Wilson, who passed away in 2010.

Glen was creative by nature. He could fix just about anything and was a true jack of all trades. He loved great music, fast cars, fishing, poker, firearms, and maybe most importantly, a good western. Known by many as the “Palo Duro Kid,” he never met a story he could not make just a little better. Those who knew him learned to enjoy the tale, whether every detail was true or not. He will also be remembered for his unmistakable bright blue eyes and mischievous grin.

Of all the roles Glen held throughout his life, his favorite in later years was being “Papaw.” His grandchildren brought out his softest side and were among his greatest joys. Whether they were spending time together, laughing at one of his jokes, or simply sitting by his side, those moments meant the world to him.

Glen is survived by his son, Jeff Eades and wife, Kami Eades, along with their four children and four grandchildren; his daughter, Amanda Wilson Harper and husband, John “Trey” Harper, and their daughter, Everett; his daughter, Sarah Wilson and her partner, Tyler Sands, and their daughter, Eleanor; and his sisters, Rebecca Benefield and his partner in crime, Marsha “Renee” Wilson. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will remember the good times they shared, the adventures they survived together, and the way Glen always did things his own way.
