Vera Bethel Truett, 98, died peacefully in her home with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Vera was the oldest of eight children born to Orval and Coy Irene Shriver. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. Her joys were spending time with family and playing games. She loved to boast about her kids and grandchildren. She maintained that doing crosswords, playing games, and not watching television is what kept her mind sharp and alert. She loved having her nails painted for all occasions in different colors and designs. Simple things in life made her happy. She never met a stranger and had friends all over the country. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Thomas O. Truett and a daughter, Barbara Willingham. She will be missed tremendously by her seven children; four siblings; eleven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
