Victor Gene Thompson, age 88, of Azle, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024.

Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2024, First Baptist Church of Lakeside in Fort Worth, Texas.

Interment: 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Restland Cemetery, Gatesville, Texas.

Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2024 prior to Service.

Victor was born on July 23, 1935, in Oglesby, Texas. He worked at General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin for 26 years while concurrently serving in the Air Force Reserves. He graduated from Flat High School in Flat, Texas, in 1954, and attended Tarleton State College.

Victor was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Lakeside in Fort Worth, Texas, where he worshipped. He especially enjoyed the weekly fellowship with the men's "Top of the Hill Gang".

Victor enjoyed finance, talking politics, listening to gospel music, storytelling of his youth, and taking care of his yard. Vic was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Fort Worth Tarrant Masonic Lodge.

Victor was preceded in death by his father, Charlie, mother, Mattie Sue, and brothers, Jimmy, Charles Douglas, and Sammy.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Thompson; sons, Randy and Corey Thompson, Scotty Ruthardt; grandchildren, Ava and Laton Thompson, Danny Ruthardt; great-granddaughter, Tinsley Ruthardt; brother, Don and wife, Billie Thompson, sister, Paula and husband, Dan Webster, brother-in-law, Roy and wife, Joyce Shipp.
