They married on March 1, 1952 before she graduated from Leon Schools as Valedictorian in 1953. After her graduation, they moved to Fort Worth where she worked at Convair until they started their family in 1956. Violet became a housewife and mother of three sons. Family activities included playing basketball, cross country road trips, boating and riding motorcycles. She encouraged her children to seek out education and to set high goals. She supported her sons throughout their careers, often working in their offices. As her family grew, grandchildren became her pride and joy.
