Virginia Evans died peacefully in Community Hospice of Texas on Monday, September 4, 2017, in Fort Worth at the age of 72. Service: 7 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Biggers Funeral Home, with Bill Stewart officiating. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017, at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial: 10 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Virginias name to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, 2501 Oak Lawn, Suite #435, Dallas, TX 75219. Virginia was born on August 24, 1945 in Abilene, to Hollis and Abbie Swafford. Virginia graduated from Abilene High School in 1963, later receiving a Liberal Arts degree. Virginia married Warren Evans on November 5, 1966. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Virginia worked at Stanley Eisenmans Fine Shoes for over 30 years. Survivors: Virginia is survived by, Warren, Jeffrey, Brian, Amy Gay (Jeffrey Gay); six grandchildren; brothers, Hollis Swafford of Dallas and Bob Swafford of Denton.
