In the early morning of September 1st, 2023, Walter Jon Phillips of Saginaw Texas peacefully passed away at the tender age of 85.

Walter was born in Monroe Michigan, proudly served twenty years in the United Sates Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a self-made man who worked hard all his life. One would be hard-pressed to find someone who worked harder, was mor generous or more kind than Walter.

He spent the last twelve years in Texas, surrounded by family who loved him and cherished who he was.

He is preceded in death by his mother/ Frieda Hazel Fountain, his father Frank Reginald Phillips and his sister, Joann Astoles.

He is survived in life by his son, Walter Jon Phillips Jr., his brother Frank Clayton Phillips, Frank's wife Jennie, his nephew Clayton Phillips, Clayton's wife Kimberly, his nephew Darren Phillips, Darren's wife Lola, his niece Rebecca Ling, Rebecca's husband Chad, his great nieces and nephews Miles, Darren, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Amber, Camryn, Ethan, Brandon, Alexander and "The Princess" Autumn.

A viewing and service will be held on Friday September 8th, 2023, at Bigger's Funeral Home located at 6100 Azle Avenue, Fort Worth TX 76135. The viewing will be from 1:00-2:00pm with service to follow at 2:00pm. Walter will be interred, with honors, at the DFW National Cemetery on Thursday September 14th, 2023, at 11:30am
