Weldon Don Parish went to be with his savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 after a lengthy illness.
Graveside Service: 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024, Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery
Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2024 at Biggers Funeral Home
Weldon was born on April 24, 1933 to the late Thurman Hodge and Opal Birley (McCaslin) Parish in Eureka, Texas
Weldon served in the U.S. Army in Ladd AFB in Alaska on an anti-aircraft artillery crew. He was so proud of his military service and loved his country. Following active duty, he served 6 years in the military as a reservist and then began his career as an electrician. After obtaining his license as a Master electrician, he started his own company. Weldon's Electric serviced the Dallas-Fort Worth area for many years to come.
Weldon was an avid gun collector and loved his hats, almost as his much beloved dog, Buddy, who stood by him faithfully for 12 years. He loved hunting, talking with his sister, Jo, on the phone so she could keep him updated on all thing's family or the Dallas Cowboys, and the TCU Horned Frogs.
He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Florrie Jo Lockmiller and infant grandson, Ryan Weldon Kesler.
Weldon loved his family and spending time with them. He is survived by his favorite ex-wife – Chessene Hite Phillips, their three children, Kent Parish (Lynne), Dorenda Kesler (Jim), Brent Parish (Carol), grandchildren – Mandy Kerce (Steve), Nicholas Parish (Natalie), Tyler Parish (Jeremy), Heather VanCuren (John), Tina Flory (Matt), Jared Kesler (Lacey), Brent Kesler (Katie), Zach Kesler (Jolie), Jessica Lewis (fiancée Matthew), Rachel Baker (Chad), Mitchell Parish (Brittani), great grandchildren – Haylee Miller (Logan), Macy Heitschmidt (Jarren), Mia VanCuren, (fiancée – Gavin Greene), Ella Flory, Presley Flory, Olivia Flory, Kinzie Byrd (John), Riley Webber (Hunter), Parker Parish, Paisley Parish, Maren Kesler, Elisabeth Kesler, Kingston Kesler, Kaedmon Kesler, Cruz Kesler, Calla Kesler, Avery Lewis, Addison Lewis, Cooper Baker, Corbin Baker, Chloe Baker, Kayli Guthrie, Eliana Anderson, Mila Parish, great-great grandchildren- Ellis, Owen, and Isla Byrd, Samuel, Ezekiel, Noah, and Elsie Kay Miller, nieces - Marsha Lockmiller Buchanan (Tony) and Remica Lockmiller Stanford (Bill)
