In Loving Memory of William Leo Gross Jr.

William Leo Gross, a devoted husband, father, and retired Gunnery Sergeant of the United States Marine Corps, passed away on July 19, 2023. With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a man who touched the lives of many and left a mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation: Saturday, July 29, 2023, 8:30 am to 8:00 pm, with his family present from 3:00 to 8:00 pm, commencing with recitation of prayer at 7:30 pm, in Biggers Funeral Home.

Born on July 29, 1959, Bill's life was one filled with unwavering dedication and an abundance of love. As a young man he answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the Marine Corps where he displayed remarkable commitment and courage throughout his illustrious career. After 20 years of service, William retired with the distinguished rank of Gunnery Sergeant, advising and mentoring hundreds of troops that he met along the way.

Beyond his exceptional military career, Bill cherished his role as a loving husband and father. Married to his beloved spouse Susan for 39 years. As a father, Bill loved his children, Chrissy and Kelly, instilling in them the values of integrity, hard work, and compassion.

Bill's vibrant spirit, generosity, and sense of humor was contagious. His zest for life was evident in the way he approached each day. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, offering support and guidance to anyone in need without hesitation.

His innovative spirit brought joy and inspiration to those around him. He was known to approach problem-solving with imaginative solutions, and his resourcefulness was admired by many. It was a common sight to see him engrossed in the process of bringing his ideas to life, sharing the joy of his creations with his family and friends.

Bill's presence will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, compassion, and generosity will live on through the countless lives he has touched. May we find comfort in the memories of the extraordinary man he was and the positive impact he made on our lives.

In honor of Bill's life, a visitation will be held at Biggers Funeral Home on July 29th, from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Muzik; stepfather, Stanley Muzik; his father, William Leo Gross; brother, Robert Gross; brother-in-law, Gary Dunow; son-in-law, Richard Herrera; and his in-laws, Patricia and John Gorss.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Gross, daughters, Kelly Herrera and Christine Gallegos; grandchildren, Brooklyn and Zachary Gallegos; sisters, Cathy Szot and husband, Mike, Karen Milano and husband, Mike, Judy Dunow, Nancy Beringer and husband, Larry; brother, Brian Muzik and wife, Kathy; sisters-in-law, Janet Mitchell and husband, Carl, Pam Prokaski and Robin Prokaski; brother-in-law, John Gorss and several nieces and nephews.
