Bill was born to William A. and Mary Eunice Henry, a Southern Baptist pastor and a homemaker respectively, in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 17, 1930. He was immersed in the Christian community that would be his lifelong support from an early age.
Bill was blessed with a loving family. He was married to Barbara Ruth Flegal with whom he recently celebrated their 63rd anniversary. They were married on January 16, 1953 in Roswell, New Mexico. He met Barbara at First Baptist Church while he was stationed at Walker AFB. They have three children whom he encouraged to explore natural beauty by taking them on hiking adventures using maps that he created for Exxon where he worked for 30 years as a draftsman.
He enjoyed life and had numerous interests. He was an organizing chairman for the Roswell Chess Club, played the piano, raced go carts, was in bowling league, flew RC airplanes and model rockets, played softball throughout his life, took courses in electronics, was a member of the Gideons, a deacon at First Baptist Antlers, and worked with the prison ministry.
He and Barbara retired to Antlers in 1987 where they built their own home and created beautiful memories for 27 years along with their childrens families, including four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara; his sons, William and David; his daughter, Ann McCaskill; his grandchildren, William and Jonathan Henry, Adrienne McCaskill Hansen, and Daniel McCaskill; and seven great grandchildren.
