William D. "Hoppy" Hopkins passed away after a lengthy illness Monday, October 13, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
A private service will be held.

Hoppy was born May 10, 1935, to Marion and Frances Hopkins in Sturgis, Michigan. He was an outstanding athlete and loved baseball and golf. Bill played for the Chicago Cubs organization for several years. Golf was his other sports love; he cherished playing golf with his buddies. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Bill worked for Kinnaird Brothers Motor Co. for several years and was devoted to F I at Jerrys Auto Group for 33 years. The employees became like a second family to him.

Its been a good life, with few regrets and little left unsaid or undone. Your next round, Bill, will be on a heavenly course where the greens read true, the roll is long and youre always putting for a birdie. Its your honors, hit away"
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Alicia Singer and Donna Wolfer (Terry); son, Jeffrey Hopkins (Lisa); stepsons, Brian Walker (Kimberly) and John Ebner; special friend, Billie Brownlee; two granddaughters he dearly loved, Holly and Kelly Hopkins; many grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brothers, Ronald (Janis) and Scott (Kim); sister, Janet Brueck (Gene) of Sturgis Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
