William E. Matheus, 99, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 23, in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Peoria Cemetery in Peoria. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Biggers Funeral Home. William was born January 2, 1914, in Gurden, Arkansas, one of 10 children. He had lived in White Settlement for over 70 years and retired from General Dynamics on December 30, 1973, after 27 years of employment. He was preceded in death by two wives, Allie E. Matheus and Helen Witkowski; sons, Curtis Edward Matheus and Bobby Dean Matheus; and eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Anderson and husband, Bill, of Azle; brother, Winston Matheus of Lake Worth; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
