Carl Arthur Hehs, 65, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on October 4, 2020.

Carl was born in El Paso on June 19,1955. From a young age, he was an avid bowler, eventually winning many trophies, which he proudly displayed on his shelves. He spent many summers in his early years with his grandparents on their farm north of San Antonio, where he would feed cows, collect chicken eggs, and ride on the tractor.

Carl was a big fan of Lawrence Welk, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and televised beauty pageants. He liked to sing and dance. Carl attended many dance parties growing up at the Child Study Center in Fort Worth. He loved his many pets through the years, mostly cats (Tom, Kat, Gato, and Paisley). Carl enjoyed playing bingo and routinely beat friends and family at Chinese checkers. He often made gifts of completed coloring book pages on which he wrote his name and date.

Carl was a stickler for calendars and made a point to tell everyone he encountered today’s day of the week and date and, often, tomorrow’s date as well as the next date to turn clocks forward or back for daylight savings time.

After graduating from school, Carl applied his talents and an extreme attention to detail at workshops in Fort Worth and, later, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he lived from 1995 to 2015. He traveled on several occasions from Arkansas to Branson, Missouri, where he rubbed elbows with many celebrity impersonators and various Warner Brothers cartoon figures.

He lived most of his life with his loving and caring parents. In his later years, he transitioned to group homes and then nursing homes. No matter the location, he made friends quickly and easily thanks to his cheerful personality. Carl was a joyful soul and will be missed by many.

Carl is survived by his parents, Marcella and Wilburn Hehs; and brother, Eric Hehs.
