Mark spent his childhood living in the Blue Mound/Saginaw area and briefly lived in Marin County, California . At age 10, his family moved to Keller. Mark went on to attend L.D. Bell High School. Mark excelled in school, especially math.

After high school Mark spent some time living in Nevada and working as a chef. Mark missed his great State of Texas, and returned in 1993. Mark cherished his family and was adored by many nieces and nephews. His friendships were priceless and his life long best friend was Cheyanne Ayers.

Later in life, Mark enjoyed extended visits with his brothers in west Texas and with his mother on Lake Worth. Mark was a proud American and he enjoyed fishing, grilling steaks to perfection, sitting by a fire, watching the sunset listening to everything from Waylon and Willie to Van Halen while sipping on a Dr. Pepper or Corona.
